Leilani’s professional motivation is to drive outcomes through managing ESG and climate-related factors to reduce risks and enhance investment performance for Rest members. She has a degree in Environmental Science (Natural Resources) from the University of Queensland, holds the One Planet MBA from the University of Exeter (with Dean’s Commendation) and is a Chartered Environmentalist.

Steve Monnier FCPA, MSc, is the sustainability specialist for BlackRock Australasia. In this role Steve partners with clients to help them navigate and achieve their sustainable investing objectives through client engagement, developing sustainable solutions, policy and advocacy.

Prior to joining BlackRock Australia in 2020, Steve was a director in BlackRock’s Investment Stewardship (BIS) team in London from January 2015 to January 2020, where he was responsible for engagement and voting with portfolio companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Dr. Ian Woods
Specialist – Sustainable Investment - Chronos Sustainability
Dr Ian Woods (specialist, climate change and responsible investment) is an expert on climate change and the integration of ESG into investment decision-making. In this role he has provided advice to a large vertical integrated retail fund manager on climate change strategy and prepared a roadmap for implementation across all divisions of the organisation.

He has also provided advice to the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) on the assessment of company board climate change competency and the UK’s Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change on Paris-aligned investment for infrastructure investors, both debt and equity, and private and listed. He is currently working with the PRI on ESG data requirements for investors, including climate change data requirements.
