About the Speaker

Jaydthumb Jessica Ayd, Esq.

An associate attorney at Franklin & Prokopik, Jessica Ayd concentrates her practice in general liability defense, medical malpractice, construction, and premises liability. Ms. Ayd regularly tries cases in both state and federal courts related to all aspects of her practice areas.

Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University Maryland, Summa Cum Laude, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney for the University of Maryland’s Disability Law Clinic and a Peer Advisor for the Office of Student Affairs. Jessica also served as the Law School Liaison for a mentoring and tutoring program serving Baltimore City Public School students.

Following law school, Jessica served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Arlene Coppadge and the Honorable Robert Coonin in the Family Court of the State of Delaware. Thereafter, she worked as an associate with Mudd, Harrison, & Burch prior to joining Franklin & Prokopik.

Jessica is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar Association. She is also a member of Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc. Ms. Ayd was recognized as a Rising Star in Maryland’s SuperLawyers publication in 2018 – 2019.

Ms. Ayd is admitted to practice before the Maryland State Bar, District of Columbia Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
