About This Webinar

The SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility together with key partners will be organising a virtual open side session at the 8th OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector to discuss Europe and Asia partnerships to support and link Governments and SMEs to adopt sustainable textile consumption and production practices.

Discussions will focus on how the streamline of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) policies and practices may minimise economic, environmental, and social risks, while ensuring producers’ profitability, an integral part of due diligence processes.

Dr Cristina Martinez is the ILO’s Senior Specialist in Environment and Decent Work. She is part of the ILO Global Team on Green Jobs and the Green Initiative. Previously she has worked at the following organisations: the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as an Education Specialist (skills and employment); the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) were she held positions as Advisor of the knowledge Sharing Alliance at the Secretary General Office and Senior Policy Analyst at the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs and Local Development (CFE); and Western Sydney University as an Associate Professor.

Zinaida has over 25 years leading international professional experience in policy for and practice of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and Education for Sustainable Development, amongst others working with the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Studies of Sustainability (UNU-IAS). Her work has focused on diverse topics such as tourism, plastics, construction, small and medium enterprises, procurement and lifestyle. Zinaida has worked extensively with governments, private sector, international organisations and academia in East, South East, South and Central Asia.

Loraine Gatlabayan

Advisor, Southeast Asia SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility, Side Session Moderator

Loraine is the Advisor for Southeast Asia including China and Mongolia at the SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility of the SWITCH-Asia Programme. For the past 16 years she has worked on international and national projects focusing on environmental and sustainable development issues in the Asian Region, with a focus on SCP and resource efficiency, biosafety, access rights in environmental decision-making, transparency and accountability, and climate change.
