Trying to understand how COVID-19, the newest legislation from Washington, and state mandates affect your health and welfare benefit plans? The program will include a discussion of these critical issues, including an overview of the impact of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and the CARES Act on your health plans.

Also, this program will discuss the insurance, benefit, and employment laws recently passed by the state legislature and that will impact the workplace and the design and implementation of health and welfare benefit plans in the new year.

An update on the ACA will be included, with an emphasis on its on-going impact on individuals, businesses, IRS reporting, and record keeping.

Potential IRS audit targets created by the ACA will be addressed, with an action plan for compliance.

ABOUT MARILYN MONAHAN

Marilyn A. Monahan is the owner of the Monahan Law Office. Marilyn focuses her practice on advising employers and consultants on compliance with employee benefit and insurance laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA.

Her volunteer activities include serving as Secretary of the Employee Benefit Planning Association of Southern California (EBPA), and as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA). Marilyn has served on the Board of Directors for the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) (2008-2018), including a term as President (2015-2016).
