This webinar marks the launch of the Solve Summer Academy, a biweekly Thursday talk series that will occur throughout the Summer. The Academy will cover various topics related to Solve for Good like project scoping, working with data and modeling, and how to think about bias and fairness in data science problems.

In this inaugural webinar, we will give an overview of Data Science for Social Good’s work and how it led to the creation of the Solve for Good program. We will then give an introduction to the mission and purpose of Solve, and hear from several volunteers on work they are currently carrying out through the Solve platform. Lastly, we will conclude with step-by-step instructions for how to use the platform as both a volunteer and an organization, and how an organization can publish a project.
