For every person suffering from chronic pain and illness, there typically is one or more family members or friends whose life is also significantly affected. This course will focus on working with families whose lives have been disrupted by some form of medical trauma – with a special focus on long-term medical difficulties.
Participants will learn:
- How to understand the whole-life impact of significant medical suffering
- Differences between the sufferer’s and their family’s experience
- How to work with clients who have no hope of a medical cure
- Spiritual aspects of wise counseling care
