With over 20 years of team management and software development, Mark is an enterprise software architect with a strong background in application frameworks, cloud application design, and integration strategy with a history of both engineering and leadership for organizations such as Credit Suisse, McKinsey, Talbots, The Hartford, L3 Communications, Vanguard Sailboats, Monster Learning, and the US Air Force. He has played significant technical and management roles in many startups, as well as founding and managing his own company for most of a decade, based on a modular application framework he designed, implemented, and marketed. He has successfully trained and mentored several younger engineers, and he attributes the origin of his leadership skills to his experience as a highly recognized infantry platoon sergeant in the Marine Corps. Classically educated in a Connecticut prep school, he is adept at writing and communications, and began designing buildings as a structural engineer hailing from Purdue. He is well travelled in the business of acquiring and maintaining trust-based customer relationships, and with a keen eye for bridging the gap between business and engineering, Mark is able to couple a deep technical knowledge, communication skills, and design skill set with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and empower his teams.
