Peristeen®… Upgraded: What to Expect with Peristeen® Plus Transanal Irrigation System

Peristeen® has been upgraded! Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation System will be replacing Peristeen, so you will receive it in one of your upcoming reorders from your supplier if you have not already. Join us to learn more about Peristeen Plus - an upgraded version of the Peristeen you know - with improvements designed to make it easier for you to use. The how-to-use steps for Peristeen Plus are the same as Peristeen, and its effectiveness is the same, but we would like to share what changes you can expect.

Coloplast Sr. Marketing Manager, Angela Jens, together with Coloplast Clinical Consultants, Belinda Coyle, RN, and Karen Spriggs, RN, will introduce you to Peristeen Plus and share the differences you’ll notice from Peristeen.
Kristy Kinlaw, dedicated bowel Coloplast® Care Advisor, will be available to answer product and lifestyle related questions, and share some of the new Peristeen Plus resources available to help make your transition to Peristeen Plus even easier. And you will have the chance to hear from fellow Peristeen users who have started to use Peristeen Plus, who will share their experience in transitioning to the new product.

Angela Jens

Sr. Peristeen® Plus Marketing Manager

Angela Jens joined Coloplast in February 2014 as a Consumer Marketing Manager. Since then, she has worked in different capacities across Coloplast - both in Minneapolis at the Coloplast U.S. office as well as in Copenhagen at global headquarters. Angela’s main focus has been within Continence Care, and since June 2021, she has been Sr. Marketing Manager for Peristeen. Angela loves living Coloplast’s mission of making life easier, and always enjoys hearing about the impact that Peristeen has had on people’s lives.

Kristy Kinlaw

Peristeen® Plus Care Advisor

Kristy joined Coloplast in February 2020 as a Peristeen® Plus Care Advisor. In this role, she helps end users in a variety of ways, but is mainly focused on supporting them and/or their caregivers in getting the best results from the Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation System after training with their clinic. She takes the time to make sure they feel confident in using the system and know what results to expect. She says the reward is when she follows up with end users and hears how life-changing Peristeen has been - it’s amazing to know that someone’s life has been changed for the better, one bowel movement at a time

Belinda Coyle

Clinical Consultant

Belinda joined the Coloplast sales team in March 2014 and was promoted to Clinical Consultant in February 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville and was a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse. She practiced in the hospital setting at Frazier Rehab & Neuroscience Institute where she specialized in caring for those with Spinal Cord Impairment/Disorders. Belinda also spent many years as a faculty member of the NeuroRecoveryTraining Institute with a curriculum focus on neurogenic bowel & bladder after SCI. She is passionate about helping others and loves to educate.

Carolina Serrano

Marketing Manager & Parent of Peristeen® Plus User

Carolina Serrano is a Coloplast employee and the mother of a 12-year-old girl who was diagnosed with neurologic bladder and bowel at age 5. Since Maya’s diagnoses, Carolina has tried more solutions than she can remember to manage Maya’s bowel condition: from dietary supplements, to laxatives, to cleanouts, and everything in between. Carolina’s main goal is to help Maya find a routine that she can follow independently and fits in with the lifestyle of an (almost) teenager.

Sarah Moran

Peristeen® Plus User

Sarah was born with spina bifida, resulting in a neurogenic bladder and bowel. Sarah has been using Peristeen since 2015 and has recently started using the updated Peristeen Plus. Sarah is happy to be able to share her personal experience with others in an effort to improve their bowel management programs.
