Tom Kimbis, exectuive director and CEO of the NPA, brings years of experience serving as a liaison to the White House, building public-private partnerships, spearheading strategic planning, and engaging industry leadership. He has launched and led game-changing initiatives in areas as diverse as technical standards, energy policy, consumer protection, trade, stakeholder engagement, and political communications. Kimbis graduated with honors from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, and from the University of Virginia with a Juris Doctor degree. He has earned certificates in leadership from the Brookings Institution and in management from the American Management Association. He currently serves as a trustee of Pickering Creek Audubon Center and on the Legal Advisory Council of the American Society of Association Executives.
Caleb McKinney, Ph.D., is assistant dean of graduate and postdoctoral training & development for Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC). McKinney is committed to graduate student and postdoctoral scholar advocacy and career formation. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in applied economics and management. He then completed his doctoral degree in microbiology from New York University, and he is currently enrolled in a master’s in professional studies program in design management and communications at Georgetown University. At GUMC, McKinney leads the graduate and postdoctoral training and development portfolio for Biomedical Graduate Education, which includes the Office of Career Strategy and Professional Development, a biomedical graduate career center that provides career advising and professional development programming for master's students, doctoral students, and postdoctoral scholars. Furthermore, his portfolio includes training grant support for institutional external funding mechanisms, and biomedical graduate student recruitment and external partnerships for strategic enrollment. Lastly, he is a steadfast advocate for student and trainee led initiatives. He mentors and provides administrative support to the Georgetown University PDA, and the Women in Science Education and Medical Center Graduate Student Organization student groups.
