Led by a Special Education and a General Education teacher, together we will break down the sometimes difficult and confusing world of special education and how it affects your classroom and teaching practices. Beginning with the process of referring a student for Special Education consideration we will then focus on how to effectively educate a student on an existing IEP. Learn about the 14 different qualifying categories for Special Education placement and how students in each category learn best. We will enumerate and clarify your legal responsibilities for students on IEPs and 504s plans. Participants will be reviewing the differences between accommodations and modifications in general education subjects. Learn how implementing special education practices can benefit every student in your class.
