About This Webinar

Join us for the second webinar in our series of complimentary CE events, the third Wednesday of the month from 12:00–1:00 pm ET. Hear from leading experts on the latest young adult mental health trends and treatment approaches for this demographic.

In this presentation we explore transgenerational trauma and how it impacts individual mental health and family functioning. We will discuss what transgenerational trauma is, current research, existing interventions, and how they may be helpful for treatment and prevention. We will also discuss cultural implications of transgenerational trauma and how that affects its perpetuation.

Learning objectives:
-Describe the nature of transgenerational trauma and give three examples of how it can affect individuals and families
-Explain the role of denial and minimization in perpetuating transgenerational trauma
-Identify differences between transgenerational trauma, collective trauma, and individual trauma
-List and compare three interventions that can help people facing transgenerational trauma to break the cycle
