The 2025 Rome Conference on Human Trafficking was organized on December 10th at the Pontifical Gregorian University by Prof. Michel Veuthey, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons; Kevin Hyland, OBE, LL.M, CEO of Praeveni Global and Fr. Professor Hans Zollner, SJ, Director of the Institute of Anthropology of the Pontifical Gregorian University.
Following the Rome Conference, this webinar marks an important step in translating dialogue into concrete action. It will officially launch the Rome Conference Report, which captures key discussions, highlights good practices, and identifies opportunities for stronger collaboration among stakeholders engaged in the fight against human trafficking at local, national, and international levels.
The webinar will also introduce an upcoming online course designed to strengthen the capacity of governments, law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations through targeted training, awareness-raising, and the exchange of best practices. The course will equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of human trafficking dynamics, practical tools to identify and support victims, and effective strategies to prevent and disrupt trafficking networks.
Participants will gain insight into the course structure, covering key themes such as sex trafficking, forced labour and supply chains, causes and demand, technology and AI, health, migration, and emerging challenges. This webinar is an invitation to continue the momentum generated in Rome and to turn shared commitments into sustained action.
