About Raising Highly Capable Kids
Raising Highly Capable Kids is a 13-week residence program that is based on the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. During this 13 week residence parents learn about the 40 developmental assets and how they affect their childrens behavior, personal development, and career decisions.
About the 40 Developmental Assets:
The Search Institute has undertaken decades of research with more than 5 million children and found that there are 40 building blocks every child needs to grow and mature. And the more of these Assets a child has in their life, the more likely they are to engage in healthy behaviors while veering away from those that are unhealthy.
Parent Feedback:
Children whose parents participated in the program were observed by their parents to have changed
and acquired assets as a result of parents changing their behaviors. Parents reported their children used
time more constructively, were more motivated to learn, had stronger positive values, learned to plan
ahead, felt better prepared to resist peer pressure, and assumed a more positive identity.
