Barry Bannister
Managing Director and Chief Equity Strategist, Stifel
Barry Bannister joined Stifel in 2005 and is currently a Managing Director and Chief Equity Strategist, leading the firm’s equity macro and sector strategy research. Over the course of his 30-year career as an equity research analyst (primarily covering the machinery, construction and engineering sectors), Mr. Bannister has been recognized multiple times as a top stock picker and earnings estimator by The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, and StarMine. He was named four times to Institutional Investor’s prestigious “All-America Research Team”. His prior experience includes analyst positions at Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc., SBC Warburg (now UBS), First Tennessee Investment Management, and AmSouth Investment Management (now Regions Financial).

Barry Bannister earned both an undergraduate degree and an M.B.A. from Emory University and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
