No one would dispute a teacher of English must be a good classroom manager, skilled at preparing lessons, adapting and selecting materials, correcting students' oral and written errors and much more. Do we, however, perhaps shy away from discussing how much English a teacher should know, especially NNESTs? Is language development for teachers ELT's elephant in the room? In this talk we'll put this thorny issue on the table.
