Clinical Associate Professor and Executive Director
Hayes Ferguson is the Director of Northwestern's Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and a clinical associate professor in the university's McCormick School of Engineering. Before joining Farley in 2020, Hayes spent 5 years at The Garage, Northwestern's student startup incubator, as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Associate Director.

A founding member of the senior management team at Legacy.com, Hayes has served in leadership roles at multiple digital companies. She has mentored myriad startups at Northwestern, as well as at Chicago incubators 1871 and Matter. Earlier in her career, she taught journalism at Medill after several years as a magazine writer, foreign correspondent and radio show host.

Hayes has a BA from Vanderbilt University and did graduate work as a Rotary Scholar at the University of Perugia in Italy and as a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
