    Ari Toivonen
    Programme Director, Erillisverkot
    Ari Toivonen is the owner of the Finnish public safety mobile broadband project Virve 2.0.
    He has worked on mission critical communications since 2000, first at Nokia Telecommunications in Finland and from 2004 at the UK Home Office. He moved from the UK to Erillisverkot in 2018.
    Ari has held several roles over these years providing strategic and technical guidance on various aspects of the mission critical communications landscape including security, functionality, technology roadmap, user requirements and spectrum needs.

    Ari has had an active role in several national and international working groups, including serving as a director and member of the TCCA board and as the chair of the TETRA user requirements working group at ETSI. Ari holds a Master’s degree on telecommunications.
