US Representative for Minnesota's 1st Congressional District
We’re honored to have Congressman Jim Hagedorn, US Representative for Minnesota’s 1st congressional district, join us as a Keynote Speaker at PBM2021. Having recently received the “Champion of Health Care Innovation Award” from the American Life Sciences Innovation Council (ALSIC), Jim has worked hard for competitive healthcare, transparency in costs, and to make sure everybody can get timely, quality medical care.
On January 3, 2019, Jim was sworn in to represent Minnesota’s First District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The First District includes 21 counties from South Dakota to Wisconsin, along the Iowa border. Jim married Jennifer Carnahan in 2018. Jim serves on the House Committees on Agriculture and Small Business to promote farming, Main Street enterprises and southern Minnesota’s rural way of life.
Dr. Baker is the current President of NAALT. Dr. Baker also serves as a Medical Director in the emergency department at the Medstar Good Samaritan Hospital, in Baltimore. He received his MD from the George Washington University School of Medicine and specializes in family medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and forensic medicine where he applies photobiomodulation (PBM) as an integrated part of the treatment protocols for his patients.
He is recognized as an expert in PBM therapy and has been invited to speak and chair sessions at numerous international PBM conferences. Dr. Baker is the current President of the North American Association of Laser Therapy (NAALT), and is a member of the World Association of Laser Therapy (WALT). Dr. Baker serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the American Association of Physician Specialties.
