Alex Pollack and Brian Ambielli will discuss the many different ways to volunteer through one's organization along with the personal and professional benefits they have experienced through their volunteer work.
Originally from Great Neck, NY, Alex presently works at Northern Trust as a portfolio manager in asset management. Since graduating from Northwestern in 2013, she has served on the boards of the Northwestern Clubs of Columbus and Chicago. She volunteers at the Metro Achievement Center for Girls in Chicago as a mentor, and is a member of the auxiliary board. She is the chair of the community involvement committee at Northern Trust, helping to organize philanthropic events for partners. She participated in the Tutormate program and is involved with the United Way of Chicago. Alex is passionate about philanthropic endeavors as a way to meaningfully give back to the community, as well as a way to gain leadership experience.
A Seattle native living in Chicago, currently working on the Expedia Media Solutions team as a Software Engineer & FrontEnd Tech Lead. Brian is also volunteering as a Teaching Assistant for the first cohort of the Northwestern University Web Development Bootcamp. He graduated from McCormick in '13 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MS in Computer Science. With a formative background in engineering, and a passion for teaching and continuous learning, he is constantly looking for ways to leverage his technical skills to help others and contribute to meaningful projects.
