Sam has spent her entire professional career managing and developing teams in the agriculture and rural industries. She is passionate about rural life and is a keen advocate for the regions. Following a successful career in the agricultural industry, and project management in workplace training for state and local governments, Sam decided it is time to branch out on her own and share her career learnings with business owners and managers. She found that a lot of HR, training, and leadership advice available to rural business was generic in nature, and heavily based in theory, making it difficult for employers to easily apply in a regional or rural context. Enter Sam’s “Best Boss” Model, featuring practical actions any business can undertake to assist with employee attraction and retention – without the fluff! These days Sam finds herself offering consultancy services to businesses, governments and not-for-profit organisations, helping them with all things workforce development, communication and preaching the importance of empathy and employee-focused workplaces wherever she goes.
