About This Webinar

In a world where the optimizing of masculinity has emerged as a conversation, Sikh men are returning to Sikh traditions for guidance. How can we make sense of Sikh conceptions of masculinity through the Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh history? How can we make sense of the opposing narratives of masculinity from a Sikh lens?

In our increasingly connected world, non-Sikh narratives of traditional masculinity model expectations around strength, success, control and emotional restraint. What does Sikhi invite us to do? How do strength and leadership through humility and courage through compassion cultivate a masculine tenderness? How does this co-exist with the overt strength, warrior culture, and military discipline Sikhi evokes?

Join us for an honest and reflective conversation, moving beyond polarizing discourses, exploring how the Wisdom of Bani and our history can help us understand masculinity, identity, and gender dynamics as we cultivate the whole self.
