PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The core of this program will be to cover the Real Estate Investment Life Cycle. There will be an array of topics including the sale of residence (including office in home), rental property (including “flipping”), land, and time shares.

Tax matters will be a focal point. The topics will include basis, depreciation recapture, and capital gain. Relatable will be relationships with installment sales and 1031 exchanges.

There will be some additional information on real estate professionals and Qualified Business Income Deduction (QBID).

Refund Policy
Refunds will be honored if written notification is received at the Administrative Office up to 5 days prior to the date of the course. A processing fee of $25 will be deducted from the refund. If the total registration fee was less than $25, no refund will be granted. Transferring the registration to another individual is allowed up to 5 days prior to the program date. Transfers or cancellations within 5 days of the course will not be accepted. “No Shows” forfeit their fees. Cancellation
VASEA reserves the right to cancel any program or course for circumstances that are not under direct control of VASEA. If a course or program is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email at the address listed on their registration form.

Barry Iacono is celebrating 39 years as a tax professional. He has been an Enrolled Agent since 1990 and a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute since 1993.
He is the principal in his firm, D. Barry Iacono and Associates, in Virginia Beach, VA. Barry's areas of specialization include tax preparation, representation, and education; investments; retirement, estate, and business consulting and planning.
Barry has been speaking and teaching for more than 32 years. His background includes speaking to numerous organizations in many venues including a variety of tax topics to NSTP, VASEA and Chapters, and MD Society of Accountants and Tax Professionals. He has also prepared prospective EAs for the Special Enrollment Exam for more than 25 years.
In 1987 Barry became a Certified Financial Planner. He holds FINRA licenses 7, 63, & 24. He is a graduate of The George Washington University with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in business.
