About This Webinar

A talk by Jim Eckart. Code enforcement work touches the law at every turn, and knowing where the legal lines are drawn can make or break a case. In this session, attorney Jim Eckart of Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP walks officers through the legal foundations of the profession, including administrative, civil, and criminal remedies and when each one is the right tool for the job. Drawing on 25 years as a City Prosecutor for roughly 50 California municipalities, including Downey, Norwalk, Culver City, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood, Jim shares real-world lessons on building cases that hold up, writing reports that support prosecution, and working effectively with city attorneys and prosecutors. Whether you are new to the field or a seasoned officer, this class will sharpen your understanding of the legal framework behind everything you do.
