    Susan Minot
    Susan Minot is an award-winning novelist, short-story writer, poet and screenwriter. Her first novel, “Monkeys,” was published in a dozen countries and won the Prix Femina Étranger in France. In 1984, she received a Pushcart Prize for her story “Hiding.” Among the anthologies her fiction has been included in are: The Best American Short Stories 1984 and 1985, and the PEN/O Henry Prize Stories: 1985, 1989 and 2011. Her novel “Evening” was a worldwide bestseller and became a major motion picture. Her new book is “Why I Don’t Write: And Other Stories” (Knopf).

    Karen Russell
    Karen Russell is a novelist and short story writer. Her comedic genius and mesmerizing talent for creating outlandish predicaments that uncannily mirror our inner lives is on full display in her most recent book, “Orange World and Other Stories” (Knopf). Russell’s debut novel “Swamplandia!” was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for fiction. Among other awards, she has received a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship and the “5 under 35” prize from the National Book Foundation. She currently holds the Endowed Chair at Texas State University’s MFA Program
