WHYY’s Director of Education Craig Santoro will moderate a discussion with child psychologist Dr. Tamar Chansky, WHYY Education Specialist Colleen Slotman, Assistant Professor at Drexel University School of Education Lori Severino and Martha Washington School teacher Shannon Kemmer.

Dr. Lori Severino is an Assistant Professor in Drexel’s School of Education. Her work focuses on dyslexia and literacy, particularly in the area of teacher preparation. She is passionate about improving the education for the 1 in 5 affected by literacy or attention issues and sees literacy as a social justice issue. Dr. Severino has 26 years of experience as a public -school teacher. She is the 2019 recipient of the Council for Learning Disabilities’ Floyd G. Hudson Outstanding Service Award.
