About
As the COVID pandemic illustrated clearly, connectivity is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a simple necessary – as basic as electricity – in every sector of society. Military and defense organizations are no exception. Commanders at HQ and warfighters on the battlefield require connectivity to get the job done, just like workers in most industries today. And whether for defense readiness, situational awareness or reconnaissance, on land, in the air, on the water or in cyberspace, these networks must be resilient, reliable and secure, not to mention intelligent and globally scalable.

Building the defense networks of tomorrow doesn’t mean starting over from ground zero. There is too much invested – literally – in defense networks to simply scrap them and build from scratch. Rather, it requires a transformation from siloed systems that use one terminal, one provider, one transport and one frequency to open standards systems that leverage multi-service networks and multi-transport terminals with dual (or more) modems for optimal network flexibility and security.

Join Hughes for this webinar to learn practical ways to plan for the evolution from siloed networks to the robust and resilient networks of tomorrow using innovative features, like open architecture/AMIP and flexible modem and flexible terminal interfaces, and new service models, such as SATCOM as a Service and managed network services.
Agenda
  • Pros and cons of implementing an open SATCOM architecture, including how to address legacy technology
  • Some of the latest innovations to break down SATCOM silos
  • Pros and cons of SATCOM as a Service and Managed Network Services
  • An example of a network transformation, and lessons learned
  • Best practices for enabling defense network transformation, focusing on lowering costs and making the network easy for all users
