Creating a successful, thriving online community requires a willingness to step outside of what your association or other associations have traditionally done. It requires direct conversations with your members about what matters most to them, what works best for them, and what could have the biggest impact on them and their work. It's about mapping the process and path you'll take to achieve success with your online community, before you ever start down the path. You can't do any of that if you sign a platform contract as your first step. This session will walk you through key considerations and milestones your association needs to meet before you ever approach a vendor. As a bonus just for reading this, we'll give you our best tip: Don't meet with a platform or their sales team until you know exactly what your community needs to accomplish for the association. Until you know that, you might not be talking to the right vendor.
