Susan Hannah

Susan Hensley Hannah, is a certified Primary Care Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Novant Health Pelvic Health Center in Winston Salem, NC. She has specialty training in geriatrics, but treats patients ages 13 years and up. The Pelvic Health Center is a unique office, as it houses urology, urogynecology, pelvic physical therapists, and colorectal surgeons, all working together under one roof. They specialize in treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain and prolapse, hematuria, recurrent UTI’s, Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC) and other conditions; for both men and women.

Susan came to NHPHC after completing her Post-Master’s Certificate in 2017 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her initial Master’s Degree in Nursing Education is from UNC Greensboro where she went on to teach nursing for 12 years and earned the Teaching in Excellence Award. Before that, her 25 year nursing career included community health, care for mothers and babies, and in-patient cardiac care. She also earned Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing and Psychology from UNC Charlotte.

All of her teaching experience has been an asset for patients who have complex health issues contributing to pelvic floor disorders. Dedication to time learning about contributing factors, and potential treatment options is of primary concern for positive patient outcomes. Each year, she continues to grow her specialty knowledge by attending conferences sponsored by professional organizations, presenting to other professionals, precepting new providers, and growing her repertoire of procedures offered in the office.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, being near any body of water, travel, and time with family. Being pet lovers, she and her husband have 2 cats and 2 dogs which helps fill the house as their children have departed for college.
