JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru (JSSAHER) is a deemed university located in Mysore, Karnataka. It was established in the year 2008 with a founding mission to serve the needs of the community at large and envisions emerging as a unique institution in the higher education setting.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is focused on medical and health-related studies and comprises of JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and JSS College of Pharmacy at the main campus in Mysore as well as another pharmacy college in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu. With a view to extending the horizons in the field of Health Sciences, the Department of Water and Health, Department of Health System Management Studies and Department of Life Sciences were also started later. Today, more than 650 faculty members instruct approximately 3000 undergraduate, 2500 graduate students and around 500 research scholars. It also offers a program by Distance and Online mode.

JSS Academy of Higher Education &Research also ranks among top 50 universities/Higher Education Institutions in India for the last four consecutive years by NIRF- National Institutional Ranking Framework by MHRD, Government of India and in 2019 is ranked 35th in India. It is accredited with A+ Grade (CGPA of 3.48 out of 4) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) during 2018 re-accreditation. It was also been granted autonomous status Under “Institutions Deemed to be Universities” by UGC for having maintained higher standards of Excellence.

For the first time, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is ranked in the 251-300 band globally and first nationally in the subject category of Clinical, Preclinical and Health, which includes Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and also made a mark among top 500 Universities globally with rank band 401-500 and top 10 Higher Education Institutions nationally, ranked third in India in the 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
