About NISM


National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public institution established by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in 2006. The Institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities - including academic programmes, professional certifications (regulatory mandate), regulatory studies, financial literacy, corporate governance and research - all aimed at enhancing the quality standards of securities markets. The Institute's horizons extend beyond India; it catalyses the development of securities markets in developing countries like Bangladesh, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and other IOSCO members through its high-level training collaborations.


NISM's academic programmes are uniquely poised to create new age securities markets professionals. The Institute's regulatory background and proximity to the industry has enabled practical and career-oriented learning through guest lectures, industry visits, live projects, real-world cases, etc., and also impressive placements. The Institute's 72 acre campus hosts state-of-the-art academic, residential and recreational facilities and a well-stocked library. The Institute's SMART Finance Lab is one of the most advanced in the country; students of its academic programmes get hands-on exposure to end-to-end trading operations in a simulated trading terminal with live (lag of 5 minutes) real-world market feeds.
