    Admissions Officer
My name is Levi May and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from James Madison University. Following my undergraduate experience, I pursued a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Personnel from The University of Mississippi. I currently work full-time for a large manufacturing company, recruiting interns and entry-level professionals for post-graduation employment.

During my time in college, I served as an undergraduate student tour guide for three years. Following graduate school, I returned to JMU and started my professional career as a college admissions counselor. I spent two exciting years recruiting applicants from Virginia, New York, and New Jersey as well as supporting ROTC/military applicants. I then relocated to Washington, D.C. and served as an Assistant Director of Admissions for American University. AU tasked me with increasing Midwest applicant flow and candidate yield. This gave me additional insight regarding how admissions committees do holistic reviews, and rely on both predictive analytics and personal statements to assess each candidate's likelihood for success. The AU Leadership Team taught me the importance of matching candidates with majors that align with their goals and interests. I also learned the importance of setting expectations and providing multiple options for students, especially when their first choice school may extend a waitlist offer. Additionally, I had the honor of serving as an application reader for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, and partnered closely with the Chicago Scholars Foundation in Chicago, Illinois.

The reason I work at CollegeAdvisor.com is because I am passionate about coaching the next generation of decision makers, as well as playing an active role in the applicant/university “matchmaking process.” There are thousands of colleges and universities in the USA, and I’m prepared to find the one that sets you up for success!
