About
Canine otitis is a very common presentation in small animal practice. Some cases are complicated by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram-negative bacillus found in soil, water and decaying organic matter. Treatment can be very challenging as the bacillus has got some inherent resistance and quickly develops into an MDR strain. All cases of otitis need to be thoroughly worked up for various factors, the primary, predisposing, perpetuating and secondary causes.
