Dr. Béla Waldhauser - CEO - Telehouse Germany - KDDI Germany
Dr. Béla Waldhauser is the Chief Executive Officer of Telehouse Deutschland GmbH since
2012 and the head of the integrated operational business of KDDI and Telehouse in
Germany since April 2014.
Between 2007-2012 he was the Managing Director of Global Switch in Germany. Prior to this
he held the same position at TeleCity where he was responsible for TeleCity’s German
operations for four years. Before assuming this position he had been the Managing Director
of Teleglobe and responsible for their activities in Germany and Austria.
Dr. Waldhauser earned a degree in theoretical physics and began his professional career at
Telenorma/Bosch Telecom, where he has started as a trainee and later worked as an
Executive Assistant. Following these early years he went on to GTS-Westcom and later to
First Telecom as their Sales and Marketing Director.
Since many years Dr. Waldhauser is orchestrating the “Competence Group Data Centre &
Infrastructure” at the eco e. V. In this position he is also leading the related working group.
Furthermore he is a part of the jury team for “Deutscher Rechenzentrumspreis” since 2011.
The price is awarded in conjunction with the yearly “Future Thinking” congress.
In July 2014 the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) appointed Dr.
Waldhauser in his position as an industry expert and member of the eco e.V. – guiding the
organisation’s expert task force for data centres. For the BMBF he is involved in the
development of the new strategy platform “IKT in H2020”.Dr. Béla Waldhauser is appointed as the spokesman for the Alliance to Strengthen the Digital
Infrastructure in German since February 2018. The Alliance was founded by firms active in
the digital infrastructure sector in Germany. In this position Dr. Waldhauser actively
communicates his personal conviction regarding the relevance of digital infrastructure and its
key role in securing Germany’s future economic capabilities. In addition, he is also active as
a co-creator and speaker within the Alliance to ensure that the importance of
“digital sovereignty” is recognized at the political level and in the German economy.
Dr. Béla Waldhauser is a member of the Dreieich Lions Club.

Roland can look back on 30 years of experience in the media and internet industry. He has been working for eco - the association of the internet industry (www.eco.de) since 2008, where he sees his main focus in the area of digital infrastructures, especially in the data center ecosystem. In the addition to the project management of an auditing process for data center operators (dcaudit.de), this includes the evaluation of market and technology developments for the industry. Roland is the central technical contact for the eco alliance for strengthening digital infrastructures in Germany (digital-infrastructures.net), which was founded in 2018 at the eco association. As part of this activity, he also coordinates the creation of studies and whitepapers. Roland has an extensive network to the most important stakeholders and players in the German Data Center, ISP & Carrier markets as well as the affiliated segments.

Peter Thomsen serves as Director of the Global Building Systems Solution Group at Armstrong Fluid Technology. In that role he leads key functions such as New Product Development Strategy, IP development and Strategic Marketing.

Prior to joining Armstrong, Peter’s leadership experience spanned a range of industries including commercial building energy conservation, rail, and power generation.

Alaa is Google Data Centre's Sustainability, Health & Safety Program Manager. He is leading the Sustainability Program for the data centre's global fleet. He is also responsible for assuring the health and safety of employees and contractors at Google Cloud Data Centres at global level

Graduated from Birzeit University in Palestine with a degree in Civil Engineering. He also has a MSc in Environmental Management from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.

Alaa joined Google in 2011, coming from automotive industry where he previously worked as an Environmental Engineer at Toyota Motor Europe in Brussels. He spent the last 8 years holding H&S leadership roles within Google Data Centre's, gaining experience through out DC life cycle in more than 40 countries.

His work at Google covered a variety of subjects such as energy efficiency, water risk management, circular economy and waste management

Professor Volker Lindenstruth studied physics at the TU Darmstadt and received his diploma in 1989. From 1989 to 1993 he obtained his doctorate at the GSI in Darmstadt in physics and then went on to work as a postdoc for computer science for two years as Feodor v. Lynen Fellow at LBNL, USA. From 1995 to 1997, he was a member of the Scientific Staff of the UC Space Science Laboratory, USA, before founding iCore Technologies in 1997. Back in Germany since 1998 Professor Lindenstruth was leading the Department of Technical Computer Science until 2009 and accompanying the position of Director for the Kirchhoff Institute of the University of Heidelberg. In addition, since 2000 he has been the head of the ALICE HLT project (BMBF / CERN MoU) at the LHC of CERN and from 2006 to 2007 also CERN Assosiate. In 2005, he founded Certon Systems in Heidelberg. At FIAS he held the position of Fellow since 2007 and became a Senior Fellow soon. Furthermore the group of High Performance Computer Architecture of the Goethe University has been in his care since 2009. Since 2010, Professor Lindenstruth has also been involved in the board of directors of FIAS, which he is chairing since 2012. He is also in charge of the scientific IT department at GSI Helmholtzzentrum since 2010 and founded the e3c Computing GmbH in 2011.
