About
How do environmental toxins and genetic variations cause breast cancer? Dr. Elizabeth Boham, MD, MS, RD, discusses various mutations of detoxification pathways, and how they can greatly increase the incidence of malignant tumor growth. She will then delve into the best-recommended treatment options (combining functional medicine, standard medicine, and nutrition) in order to prevent and even reverse progression.

As a cancer survivor herself, Dr. Boham knows how difficult it can be to navigate through the healthcare system. Her experience inspired her to take a more innovative approach in her own practice, and help people heal through the power of nutrition and proper supplementation.

Dr. Boham is Board Certified in Family Medicine from Albany Medical School and is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. In addition, she has her undergraduate degree in nutritional biochemistry from Cornell University and her graduate degree and Registered Dietitian from Columbia University.

She has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show, wrote a chapter in the Functional Medicine Approach for Obesity, and has developed her own functional nutrition course to educate MD’s worldwide.

Her goal is to help patients get to the root cause of their body’s dysfunction, and ultimately, recover from chronic ailments.
