Right-sizing Gensets for Motor Loads

Recorded
ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Like engines, electrical generators must meet load demands. While
engines provide mechanical power, generators influence kVA and
voltage control. Electric motors draw starting currents 2x to 8x normal
running current, and they may not start or may run at reduced speeds if
excessively loaded. Each motor is selected for particular characteristics,
each of which represents different types of starting and running loads.
Please join Chris Norris, Energy Systems Engineer for Cat® Electric
Power, in discussing how loads, particularly motor loads, affect
generator sizing.
