ESSER I’s liquidation period ends in January 2023 (unless a late liquidation period is granted to the district) and ESSER II will be in its final year, with ARP not far behind. The U.S. Department of Education (ED) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) have begun their oversight and the reports are coming in demonstrating concerns with allowability, the tie to the COVID-19 pandemic, and are noting financial management, procurement, and other concerns. This webinar will review the most recent findings and discuss the controls and presumptive corrective actions that can be put into place to try to avoid similar findings.
  • ESSER monitoring priorities and protocols used to review ESSER spending;
  • Recent findings and required corrective actions to ensure compliance; and
  • Recommended internal controls to ensure compliance with ESSER spending.
