Research Dairy Scientist, The Cows Are Always Right LLC
Dr. Hall has worked on dairy farms, in dairy cattle nutrition as faculty at the University of Florida in Extension and research, and for 20 years as a research scientist for the USDA - Agricultural Research Service at the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center in Madison, WI. She earned her degrees in Animal Science with a Bachelor of Science and doctorate from Cornell University and a Master of Science from Virginia Tech. With an eye to practical applications, her research and extension work focused on nonfiber carbohydrates in dairy cattle diets: how to analyze for them and what cows and their microbes do with them. She served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee that revised the Nutrient Requirements of Dairy Cattle. She is currently consulting at The Cows Are Always Right LLC, so named because it was the one thing she was certain of. Dr. Hall lives in rural Wisconsin with her husband and a varied pack of rescued dogs.
