About
Critical physical parameters of both cathode and anode materials include specific surface area, density and pore size distribution. Specific surface area, as measured by gas adsorption and calculated according to the BET equation, is expressed in m2 per gram – so reliable results require accurate and precise measurements of sample weight and of the total amount of gas adsorbed. The same is true for density measurements done by gas pycnometry and powder tapping and pore volumes measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry and expressed in cm3 per gram.

As the involved materials aren´t easy to handle sometimes due to electrostatic charges, this requires technical solutions to minimize the influence of these factors, especially during the weighing procedure. This webinar will pinpoint the key factors in these measurements - including weighing - that create accuracy and precision and will also provide practical advice to ensure the best data quality.

Key learning objectives:

> Avoid errors on your weighing accuracy - understand the influencing factors from environmental conditions
> Maximize accuracy and reproducibility in your surface area measurements
> Best practices in solid and powder density measurements
> Identify those factors which make for accurate pore size, pore volume and porosity measurements
