Didier Bodin
Dr Didier Bodin is a Principal Pavement Engineer at the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO). Since he joined the pavement team in October 2010, his research has focused on a range of projects dealing with performance characterisation and modelling of unbound and recycled granular materials, foamed bitumen stabilised and asphalt pavements. His research involved laboratory performance characterisation, accelerated pavement testing and theoretical modelling for a better understanding of pavement distress mechanism and developed pavement design approaches. Didier has been engaged with Austroads and has delivered major Austroads projects focused on the characterisation of pavement material, assessment of pavement performance under accelerated pavement testing, pavement response to load and performance modelling for more than 10 years. Didier is a member of the Austroads Pavement Structures Technical Group (PSTG) and a former member of the Austroads Pavement Task Force (PTF).
Andrew Papacostas
Andrew Papacostas has over 35 years’ experience as a civil engineer in the road building and maintenance industry, 30 years of which have been specialising in road pavement technology. He is currently the Department of Transport & Planning (Victoria) Principal Engineer – Pavements & Materials. In this and previous roles, Andrew has been responsible for providing technical advice relating to pavement technology issues including the preparation of pavement construction specifications, design guides and standards. He is also actively involved in pavement related research through Austroads and various academic collaborations.
