As governments across Australia and New Zealand progress toward more connected, automated, and efficient transport networks, consistent and secure data exchange is becoming essential.

This webinar presents a concept for the standardised provision of road agency data to data consumers such as information service providers, navigation apps providers, and vehicle manufacturers, via jurisdiction-based, Harmonised Access Points.

A National Access Point (NAP) or state-based Harmonised Access Points (HAP), have the potential to give drivers access to authoritative, and reliable information services including Safety-Related Traffic Information (SRTI) & Real-Time Traffic Information (RTTI) using current in-vehicle technologies.

This work forms part of the broader Austroads project titled "Guidance for Developing Standardised Transport Data Exchange for Australia and New Zealand". It proposes a scalable, federated design that draws from European Union data provision models, while being tailored to local agency capabilities, technical readiness, and jurisdictional policy settings.

In this session, we will:

• Explain the vision for Harmonised Access Points in the ANZ context

• Explore how HAPs could support journey efficiency and road safety

• Share key insights from industry and agency stakeholder engagement

• Outline foundational principles for federated architecture, data quality, and governance.

We will also provide an overview of the full project scope and highlight how agencies are already drawing on this concept to improve their data provision practices. The webinar is ideal for professionals in transport agencies, local government, freight and logistics, ITS vendors, and digital infrastructure strategists.

Join us to explore how harmonised data provision to drivers using current in-car and mobile technologies could unlock safer and smarter road network operations across jurisdictions.
