We've introduced BluCr®, the first Cr(VI), PFOA, and PFAS-free hard chrome plating to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly alternatives. This sustainable technology, paired with an electrolytic nickel layer, offers comparable benefits to traditional hard chrome plating and even exceeds the corrosion resistance of single-layer coatings.

Electroless nickel coating is a viable alternative known for its uniform thickness on complex shapes and excellent wear and corrosion resistance. The microstructure of electroless nickel-phosphorus deposit undergoes significant property changes based on phosphorus content. Dr. Oleksandra Yevtushenko, Global Application Manager Wear Resistant Coatings, holds a PhD in physical chemistry and has more than 15 years of experience in the characterization of metallic coatings and the tailoring of specific material properties. In 2014 she joined Atotech’s R & D team as a scientist focusing on development of new processes for wear resistant coatings. Oleksandra’s extensive experience ranges from in-depth know-how in corrosion science, electrochemical characterization, development of new galvanic processes and improvement of processes as per customer needs.

Product Management and Technical Specialist Wear Resistant Coatings
Dr. Iulia Baciu, Product Management and Technical Specialist for wear resistant coatings, holds a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Würzburg. She joined Atotech's R & D team as a scientist in 2011, focusing on the development of new electroless nickel processes and is credited with the invention of our processes Nichem® HP 1151, ELeVEN® HP 1050 and Nichem® MP 75. During her almost 10-year career in this field, Iulia has acquired a broad expertise that she has been able to share at numerous international conferences where she presented Atotech processes and innovations.
