About
Per- and poly- fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are omnipresent, newsworthy, and front-and-center for federal and state environmental lawmakers. PFAS-specific regulations are evolving, triggering new business risks for most organizations. More immediately, private litigation continues to grow and has been occurring even without PFAS-specific regulations. Some states are also taking action in the absence of federal regulations.

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP (Vorys) has been involved with PFAS litigation since its early inception and will provide unique views on PFAS regulatory enforcement and private litigation. David Edelstein, an environmental partner with Vorys, will present on current and expected litigation trends. He will also highlight the importance of maintaining legal privileges when investigating potential PFAS-related matters.

Experts at Antea Group have also been tracking the assessment and remediation of PFAS sites and the evolving regulatory environment. Nearly 20 proposed state regulations are in the works and U.S. EPA regulations are now on the cusp of enactment under regulatory programs including CERCLA, TSCA, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Clean Air Act.
