Tech Transfer is a critical but vulnerable step when moving from R&D to Commercial Manufacturing, from one site to another, or between pharma and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). While it’s a critical step to complete efficiently with compressed time-to-market expectations, this is also a vulnerable time due to variability in environments and equipment across sites. In addition, the amount of data is often in disparate data systems and/or in independent networks which leads to severe inefficiencies and lost time to market. Worse, if the tech transfer isn’t done correctly, this will lead to a higher rate of batch rejections or even a delayed product launch.
