    The London VAWG Consortium is the largest coalition of specialist VAWG providers working across the 32 London boroughs. It has 28 members and delivers ten projects on behalf of the Greater London Authority, London Councils and the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime.

    Donna Covey CBE
    AVA's Chief Executive
    Donna has been Chief Executive of AVA since December 2014. She started her career in the Trade Union movement, specialising in equality and diversity issues, and spent 10 years as a member of the TUC General Council. She has run a number of third sector organisations, including Asthma UK and the Refugee Council. She has written extensively on health, equality and human rights issues. In 2013 Donna was awarded the CBE for services to equality and human rights. She is the executive chair of IRISi, the social enterprise delivering IRIS, the gold standard Domestic Violence intervention for General Practice.

    Roz Davidson
    CEO of The Positive Parenting Company & expert in trauma, gender based violence and child development
    Roz has been working with children and families in the London Borough of Lewisham for 28 years since 1993 and was the Centre Leader at a Children’s Centre in Lewisham from 2003 for 9 years, working closely with families affected by domestic abuse before opening her own company in 2013.
    Roz is now the Director of The Positive Parenting Company and a National Domestic Abuse Consultant and Trainer, delivering preventative and recovery interventions for families that have experienced domestic abuse.
    Roz also delivers training for professionals including Effects of Domestic Abuse on Children, Domestic Abuse and Coercive Control, Domestic Abuse Awareness and MARAC, VAWG and RIC training.
    Roz has been accepted at University and will be starting her Masters in Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse in the autumn term of 2022.
    Roz is also the Chair of the Lewisham VAWG Forum.

    Jo Sharpen
    Expert in trauma, gender based violence and child development
    Jo Sharpen is a qualified youth worker with a BSc (hons) in Psychology and a MA in Women and Child Abuse. She is also a qualified online counsellor working with young people who have experienced abuse and violence.
    She previously worked for AVA for 15 years. Prior to this she worked for the Institute of Psychiatry as a researcher and then at Eaves Women’s Aid for several years, in a refuge.
    She wrote the national UK toolkit for the health sector on responding to children and young people affected by violence against women and girls, entitled ‘Improving Safety, Reducing Harm’ which was published by the Department of Health in 2009 and updated in 2014.
    She has written numerous policy briefings, guidance and training packages on violence against women and girls.
    She also wrote the national guidance for the Home Office on preparing for the amendment to the domestic violence definition and assessing risks to teenagers and moderated their online ‘this is abuse’ forum, responding to over 4000 young people.

    Jo is also a freelance consultant and clinical supervisor specialising in gender based violence and innovative work with young people.

    Eva Kestner
    AVA's Resources Director
    Eva joined AVA in March 2017 after several years working in front line politics in Scotland and London. In these roles she predominantly worked on issues around inequalities and health, including leading on a consultation on achieving women's equality. She has previously ran a parliamentary office and enjoys developing her skills in financial management. She holds a MSc in public communication management and is currently undertaking a diploma in economics.

    Eva will be discussing the social franchise model of CODA and how to get involved.

    Michaela Campbell
    Ending Women's Homelessness Lead for Homeless Link
    Michaela is Homeless Link's Ending Women's Homelessness Lead and a PhD student at the University of Warwick researching the intersectional needs of Black and minoritized children. Her presentation “Living under the radar: when childhood and domestic abuse intersects” unpacks the experiences of Black and racialized children experiencing domestic abuse using the theory of intersectionality.
