About
Making Tax Digital for income tax is going to mean a massive change in the way accountants and bookkeepers work and serve many of their clients. It’s unlikely to all be plain sailing. Preparing for the change is going to take the right support - and more importantly, accountability.

The MTD Accountability Club will do just that.

Join us for the first in a monthly series on Monday 23 June at 2pm, where we will follow a group of accountants as they tackle the tricky situations that come up as they prepare for the first round of mandation of Making Tax Digital for income tax in April 2026.

The practitioners will share what they’ve done so far and what their plans are for the month ahead. You’ll also hear from Sage’s Chris Downing, who will also be helping the group and the wider AccountingWEB community. And you’ll get to ask the group questions on their progress.

The live webinar will also share the monthly MTD state of the nation results, where we reveal the readiness of the wider accounting population.

Here’s what we’ll cover on the first episode:

- An overview of what our group of accountants have done so for to prepare
- Techniques you can use to get ready
- The struggles firms have faced so far
- Insights from the public testing - the good, the bad and ugly

The MTD Accountability Club is brought to you in association with Sage. If you would like to join the club and share your progress, please get in touch.
