Steve Sybeldon
Regional Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Americas, Kymeta Corporation
As RVP of Business Development and Sales in Americas, Steve is responsible for promoting Kymeta solutions to Land Mobile, Maritime, and Fixed location markets. Steve is a cellular industry veteran with 20 combined years at MCI, McCaw Communications, and AT&T Wireless. In 2005, he transitioned to the satellite industry to deliver cellular services within the maritime industry by way of satellite link.

At Kymeta, Steve’s initial focus was on maritime and aviation solutions, but has expanded to include fixed and land mobile products. Kymeta has benefitted from Steve’s expertise with the western market growth of McCaw Cellular and AT&T Wireless. Additionally, Steve introduced cellular switch technology and Roaming potential for cruise ships operating in international waters so passengers could access cell service anywhere at sea. He continues to promote operational efficiency services and applications for ships through satellite connectivity.

Steve has pleased audiences as a featured speaker at numerous conferences for digital ship, sea trade and Nor-shipping. He also has spoken at aviation events for commercial and business aircraft alike.

Joseph Bowmaster
Public Safety Sales Director, Kymeta Corporation
Joseph “Jos” Bowmaster is the current Public Safety Director for Kymeta. Bowmaster first learned of his passion for serving others with his work with AmeriCorps leading volunteers in the disaster recovery of the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, and later as the leader of the Missouri AmeriCorps Alums in responding to multiple disasters ranging from ice storms to wide-scale flooding throughout his home state. As a previous NREMT-Advance Crew Chief on a 911 EMS service on the campus of the University of New Hampshire Bowmaster honed his leadership skills as a first responder, later attending the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Bowmaster’s career progressed to managing North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Puerto Rico with the Verizon Crisis Response Team where he led Verizon’s disaster response operations for a multitude of pre-planned events including two Super Bowls, presidential election cycles, and other events to crises events ranging from hurricanes, tornados, forest fires, cyber-attacks, manhunts, and the Surfside Condo Collapse. Bowmaster was a key leader in the first private-public-partnership publication of the ESF12 and ESF2 document to reduce fiber line cuts in disaster recovery operations that has been incorporated into multiple states’ disaster plans. An avid drone pilot, operator of his own company where he designs and builds incident command trailers, and candidate for his master’s in professional studies in Emergency Management, Bowmaster brings an invaluable collection of knowledge and network of innovators and leaders in public safety to Kymeta. Jos graduated from Westminster College and received his Master of Professional Studies Candidate Emergency Management from Tulane University.

Michael Weaver
Senior Director, Public Safety & Emergency Management Preparedness, IP Access International
Michael Weaver currently serves as Senior Director for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness at IP Access. His 20 years of experience in the industry has provided practical suggestions for communications solutions used for mitigation, response, recovery, and relief. He has provided assessments of satellite communications technologies and helpful knowledge and advice on drones, rapid deployments, LTE and FirstNet solutions. He also serves as the Commercial Chapter Advisory Member for the Montana Association of Public Safety Communications Officials. When not attending exercises, training, or public speaking, you can find him fishing on the beautiful rivers and streams in Montana where he calls home.
