Andy has 36 years of experience in disruptive technology businesses, from co-founding to IPO. He has worked in both startups and large corporate enterprises in market sectors such as terrestrial and satellite telecommunications, public transit & mobility, automotive, medical devices, drug development/manufacture, financial services and consumer facing apps and products.
In addition to co-founding multiple start-ups, (including reaching IPO) he led commercial strategy and execution for 10 years at McLaren Applied, helping grow the company from 7 to several hundred employees.
He is currently Head of Satellite and Space for TTP plc, a leading technology and product development services company based in the Cambridge (UK) technology cluster. TTP partners with global industry leaders to accelerate science and technology-driven breakthroughs. In the space sector, the company specializes in 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs), user terminals and antennas for satellite connectivity (including UAVs), satellite payload systems, aviation communications, and government and defence solutions. TTP’s broad experience spans terrestrial and satellite communication technologies, ranging from system-level architecture to device design, across frequencies from VHF to V-band, and extending to land-based, aeronautical, and space-based platforms.
In 5G non-terrestrial networks, TTP helps organisations navigate the convergence of satellite & terrestrial communications and military satellite communications with commercial services, supporting clients from early strategy and system architecture through to development, integration, test and deployment.
