With the best of intentions, many parents, loved ones, and even clinicians can engage in codependent relational styles that counterintuitively create distance and resentments. This presentation will explore themes related to family systems, codependent and controlling relationship patterns, and attachment ruptures. We will discuss the formation and maintenance of these disruptive patterns, and how individuals and families can move toward healthier ways of relating.
