After her MD PhD (1986, Prof Bruining) in Rotterdam , Netherlands, she did her paediatric training in the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France (1993), followed in 1999 by paediatric endocrinology-diabetology. In 1988 she did a University DU in Public Health in Nancy , France and participated in the EURODIAB diabetes registry.
She participated in the creation of the multidisciplinary team (DECCP) for the care of children and adolescents with diabetes in Luxembourg, a dynamic and international team. They have been recognized as Centre of Reference for Pediatric Diabetes as well as member of the ERN (European Reference Network) for rare diabetes.
She received several research grants from the EU, interregional and international funding structures. Research topics of the team include epidemiology, technology in diabetes care , and the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes.
She published more than 120 publications in peer reviewed journals and several chapters in books.
She became ISPAD President in 2020.

Valentino Cherubini
Valentino Cherubini is the director of the Division of Pediatric Diabetology, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Salesi Hospital, Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria, Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona, Italy since 2011.
He was graduated in in 1984 at University of Ancona, specialized in Pediatrics in1988, specialized in Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases in 1993 at the University of Ancona, Italy. His main research interests include pediatric endocrinology and childhood diabetes focusing on epidemiology. Since 1997 he is the Coordinator of the Registry for type 1 Diabetes in Italy (RIDI) study group.
He served as coordinator of the study group of diabetes of Italian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPED) during 2009-2011. He has a great interest in the education and the motivation of children and adolescents with diabetes and their families. He organized many events in collaboration with local and national associations of patients.

Linda DiMeglio

Dr. DiMeglio works in clinical and translational research with a focus on type 1 diabetes prevention, beta cell preservation, and new technologies and therapeutics. She is a Center Director and Chairs the Publications Committee for the TrialNet network and is the PI of the Immune Tolerance Network T1DES Study. She serves on the Editorial Board for Diabetes Care. She is a former member of the ISPAD advisory council and a current member of the ISPAD Guidelines Editorial Board. She has been the Medical Director of the American Diabetes Association Camp John Warvel since 1998. She also is an active clinician, and sees patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders in clinic and teaches medical students, residents, house staff, and fellows.
