Mr. Rizal Harris Wong is a Group Technical Authority for Process Safety Management in PETRONAS. He graduated in Process & Chemical Engineering from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and has 25 years of experience in Oil & Gas industries.

In 2011 he joined PETRONAS as principal Process Safety where he started the digital monitoring systems of safety critical equipment & developed technical safety capabilities in PETRONAS. He was appointed as Group Technical Authority for process safety in 2020 and currently steers and advises the group on Technical Process Safety.

He started his career as a process optimization engineer with Conoco @ Melaka Refinery, Malaysia. He then moved to Regional Engineering office, Lake Charles Refinery, Louisiana, USA as a process design engineer. In 2003, he returned to Malaysia and introduced Management of Change and other Process Safety elements in Melaka refinery, which is now Process Safety Standards for PETRONAS group.

Rizal has also worked for ACCENTURE and DNV Malaysia servicing clients in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, India, U.A.E, Oman, etc.
